happy new year?
wow. i have just finished reading through my ENTIRE blog... literally.
I can't believe how i used to think missing 3 days blogging was sacrilege and now look at me... a month goes by and i don't even blink.
how bout we get back into the swing of things with a quick rant....
the girl i sit next to at work is the kinda person i hate... incompetent. we were hired to do the same job, only we ended up splitting some things. i do death claims and lump sum, she does income protection (IP) and ip payments. we were meant to cross train which she has been putting off but i ended up learning her job by default. how does that work you ask? BECAUSE SHE IS INCOMPETENT. I ended up having to help her out, even though i get more work in per day than she does.
she cannot organise her time, she spends most of it on the phone anyway, she has no sense of logic, she complains how busy she is but doesn't do any of it anyway, she asks the same questions over and over again. we have been there the same amount of time and i have to hold her hand.
today was a golden example. last week, she took 4 days off. that meant for 4 days i was doing 2 people's job. i was doing all the mail/database stuff in the morning,which we usually share, all on my own. i did her IP payments till 12 pm (which she usually does until 4pm... yet another example of how slow and incompetent she is). was doing her IP claim notifications and then the rest of the day doing my work... and then indexing all the days scanning for that day as well. i was thinking how if it stayed at that level of work load, we could get ridd of her altogether and they could just pay me double.
well i ended up taking friday off, which was the day she came back, and i expected her to hold down the fort like i did while she was away. NOT A CHANCE IN HELL. i came in today and half of friday's mail was still sitting there. she hadn't done ANY database work. she had physically put the payments through so people got there money but none of the other stuff that goes with it. she didn't index anything. and she was complaining that she had 2 notifications to send out.
I couldn't believe it. i did BOTH our jobs for 4 days. did EVERYTHING! and had it ALL done in a time frame exceeding our service standards. she couldn't even get half HER job done, forget about mine. i was astonished.
do i expect too much??
