the date that never was
i know i haven't kept you up to date about the date... i'm sorry... the coffee but here's a quick run down.
my last night at civic i asked out a customer. the next day he messaged me (a very sweet message i might add) and brought up coffee, and the fact that we should have some. i agreed and we left it at 'soon' and he said he looked forward to hearing from me. ie, i had to make the next move. so a week and a half later (shuddup i had started a new job) i messaged and brought up the coffee, we scheduled for the following week - tuesday to be exact.
meanwhile i'm shaking at the prospect of going on a date. cos anything remotely relationshipy and i freak. so A pointed out that i only have to commit to coffee, and nothing else. even thats a bit shakey, commit... ew.. but anyway it seemed to work and i'm all ready for coffee.
so tuesday roles round and i've got the flu but i've taken the day off to try get rid of it and hope i can still make coffee but it wasn't gonna happen. so i ring to cancel and it turns out he's work van got broken into anyway and he was stuck getting stuff sorted for the insurance company. so we reschedule for same time next week.
so tuesday roles round again and i'm panicking cos i could see i was going to get stuck at work and not make it home in time when i reach for my phone and there's a missed call and a voice message. now he's sick and claims i must have given it to him (damn germs that travel through phone lines), how bout same time next week.
can i just point out that it's now been over a month since we said 'hey how bout coffee'.
yanno what, if next week my car gets broken into - i'm gonna go with my three strikes your out rule and safely say its fate and someone doesn't want this "thing" (whatever it may be) to happen.
